On September 19, 1984, the “Youth Welfare Association” was formed with the aim of bringing together local community members of Govindakudi to carry out local community activities. Thereby, the village met the essential needs of the people.

As a result of seeing students daily struggle, idea to setup own English School in our hometown emerged.

On May 30, 1987, With the good advice of N.A.M Yusuf Ali (Chairman, Rajagiri Welfare Association), school named in remembrance of late President Dr. Zahir Hussain who inaugrated our big Masjid, “Dr. Zakir Hussain English Medium School” was inaugurated by Late E.S.M Pakir Mohammed (Philanthropist), in the building belongs to big Masjid.
