Did you know that we stand on earth’s lithosphere and the asthenosphere? The lithosphere is the hard part of the geosphere. The geosphere contains the nature factors of fire, earth, water, and wind and the biosphere. Lithosphere is another word for earth’s landscapes. The asthenosphere is the rock, mineral, and pebble parts of earth. The lithosphere and the asthenosphere are what we stand on. The lithosphere also known as the crust of our planet is where we stand on. For example: the grass rests on top of earth’s lithosphere.
Earth’s lithosphere is a protection layer for our planet earth. The lithosphere is a hardened surface that is why it is strong to break. The asthenosphere is what we call the outer mantle. The asthenosphere is right below the lithosphere. The asthenosphere is lighter than the lithosphere. The asthenosphere has some minerals that are valuable but the molten iron which is few layers below has even more minerals. The lithosphere is deep as 100 km (60 miles) and the asthenosphere is deeps as 80 to 200 km (50 to 120 miles). Did you know in some regions the asthenosphere can be deep as 700 km (430 miles)? The temperature of the lithosphere and the asthenosphere is around 300 to 500 degrees Celsius. You know, there is many different varieties of different books explaining about the lithosphere (crust) and the asthenosphere (outer mantle) and they explain about the mantle. You can explore articles/ stories like that.
